Time flies when you're having fun! It's those LinkedIn updates about your career milestones that remind you of how many years passed-well it's been almost 4 years I was offered and accepted a position of a Peer to Peer trainer first for Sculptra (hands down my most favorite product). It's been another half a year since training position has expanded to Restylane, Perlane and Dysport-all products under the umbrella of Galderma.

The most exciting reminder was accounting for loss of bone/skeletal/facial remodeling with age (and correcting it, with Sculptra!) besides soft tissue augmentation and volume restoration.
Face loses not only fullness but width and projection and no product in the world can efficiently correct it.

Another really great observation by Dr. Vleggaar is correlation of volume created by a vial of Sculptra (about 4 cc that last up to 2.5 years), which proves once again how cost effective this product is: 1cc of fillers that cost about the same as a vial of Sculptra create, well, 1 cc of volume that lasts 6 months up to 12 months.
Consecutive days after training make me feel like a kid in a candy store. I'm giddy from excitement of recreating youthful projection and lifting the midface so efficiently my patients can't believe their eyes looking in the mirror. Even though it's water they see right after, it's a (slightly exaggerated) preview of what's to come in few weeks, and the future is beautiful!

His injury was due to a surgeon's mistake, facial nerve was damaged which resulted in left side paralysis and later right side started pulling to make up for lost balance. His treatment is very creative for me and keeps me on my toes anatomy-wise.

Article in last Bazaar magazine confirmed that injections of vitamins are still super popular in Europe, South America and Brazil. Mesotherapy is the fancy word of French origin summarizing the mid layer of skin treatment with cocktail of microelements and amino acids to fight wrinkles, spots, and other imperfections. It goes at a whopping price of $350 per session (usually requiring 5-10 sessions to achieve great results) in Moscow and beauties around the world swear by this treatment. Not so much in the US.
My experience as an injector here for the past almost 10 years is procedures and products are quite limited due to very tight FDA regulations and most innovations hit European markets a lot faster (on average 5-6 years) than USA. Another issue is cost limitation-often people have a budget for "self improvement" and I'd rather sell a liquid facelift with fillers or Sculptra as opposed to vitamin injections to see real improvement that will last a while.
Nevertheless something similar to mesotherapy, Dermapen treatment, took off really well in local spas-a needling procedure that is frequently combined with application of those vitamins and amino acids topically.
So why is mesotherapy and microneedling is so popular if you don't see fast results as with fillers and Botox? My take on it: psychologically many people feel that if it's painful it must really be effective. Like a good friend of mine who is a Surgeon said "You have to crack some eggs to make an omelet" :)
